Mr Opportunity by Larry

I ran across this little guy at the Nisqually NWR and he sat perfectly still for about a dozen photo’s, while I tried different aperture.  I had the ISO set at 1600 because it was overcast and I had been photographing in the woods.  This was shot with a Canon 30D and a 400mm f5.6 lens at f/8 for 1/750 and the histogram showed mostly mid tones.  I like the sharpness, the textures and that it fills the frame.  If I could do it again I’d try a lower ISO, slower shutter speed and get further away to try and get some background.
